WORDS

WHO DO YOU SAY YOU ARE?

Sufficient, Abundant, Ample, Plenty, full measure, bountiful, complete, unlimited- take your pick. Each of these words is a different way to say “enough.” These words are exactly what God thought of when He spoke you into being. That’s what He had in mind.

Words are powerful. That’s why God used a word to create everything. Words can build and also destroy, but it is the words that we say over ourselves that determine who we become. Here are some more words you might recognize: Created, Named, World Changer, Worth it, Dangerous, Healed, an Advocate, Found, Empowered and Enough.

Each of these words were chosen as our themes this year because these are the words we pray over each and every one of you. But it is not enough that WE believe them, YOU need to believe them too. Below is a picture of a name tag. Take a look at the words in this devotional and pick one that describes you now. Write it on the picture, but it out and keep it in your Bible so when you begin to doubt who you are to God you will be reminded of your identity in Christ.

Our character is empowered by God so we look after each other everyday.

Read and underline the verses on below in your Bible. Write any verses that jump out at you on some paper or a journal, so you don’t forget them.

Romans 8:39 (NIV)

neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Ephesians 2:10 (NIV)

For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

1 Corinthians 6:19-20 (HCSB)

Don’t you know that your body is a sanctuary of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, 20 for you were bought at a price. Therefore glorify God in your body.
