I am... An Advocate| Week 1: FIGHT
We are in a fight. Our fight is not the physical type, but it does involve us. We are fighting in two fronts, we fight the enemy’s influence on our friends and families, and we also fight against our own fallen nature. It is not an easy nor even a fair fight because the enemy fights dirty and our sinful nature never takes a break.
This fight is not even for our benefit. God makes us all advocates because we are going to fight for those who are weaker than us. The term “advocate” is someone who stands on behalf of a person who cannot fight for themselves. They may posses skills that a person lacks and thus they use these skills to fight for that person. We are called to be advocates of those around us, our friends and families and even our city. We are to fight for those who cannot fight for themselves.
So how do we get in the fight? Just like any fighter or warrior we have to hone our skills for battle. We require the proper balance of diet and exercise to grow our spiritual side; however, Instead of physical training or balanced meals, our training is done on through prayer and the scripture. When we pray and get to know God, and therefore we grow our trust in God more, to listen to His commands and desires. We gain humility and this gives us spiritual strength. When we focus on the scriptures, it works just like having a proper balanced diet. The nutrients of God’s word get ingested into our spiritual being helping it to grow and makings us ready to fight.
The stronger our Spiritual selves are, the more effective advocates we become and thus we can fight for others better. We fight for the weak, we fight for the voiceless, we fight for the outcasts, the helpless, the oppressed, and we fight against injustice. In the Name of The Lord God. We fight!

Is there a person or persons that you feel the Lord directing you to fight on their behalf?
In your opinion, why does God want us to fight?
What would you change in your life if you fully grasped the fact that God wants you to fight for others?
Take a few minutes to thank God for the fact He can use us to fight for others.
