I am... Healed| Week 1: HEART

God is a wholistic healer. This means that He cares about healing the whole person heart, mind, body and soul. The very first step He takes in the healing you is dealing with matters of the heart. Your being is more interconnected between the physical and spiritual sides than you realize that if one is suffering from sickness, the other side will show symptoms in some way.

All sickness was not part of God’s original plan, but came into the world  as one of the side effects of sin. When God began His plan for your salvation He also set into motion a way for us to receive healing for the effects of sin. This is why He begins with the heart.

Sin causes our hearts to become hard so God deals with your heart first, by giving you a new heart, a heart that is soft, gentle and obedient to His voice. When you first believed in Jesus Christ, He gives you a heart free of guilt and the baggage of sin.

 Healing begins at the heart before God deals with any physical infirmity. It would do you no good to have your physical illness looked after but, while your heart remains in the dark. Your healing then would be only prolonging your life apart from God and that is not what God wants for you. He wants you to be healed from all hurts forever and be with Him for all eternity never suffering illness again.

God replaces your heart

Read and underline the verses on below in your Bible. Write any verses that jump out at you on some paper or a journal, so you don’t forget them.

Read and underline the verses on the following page in your Bible.

Ezekiel 36:26 CSB)

I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will remove your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.

James 5:14-15 (NIV)

 Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord. 15 And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven.

Isaiah 53:5

But he was pierced because of our rebellion, crushed because of our iniquities;
punishment for our peace was on him, and we are healed by his wounds.

James 5:16

Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is very powerful in its effect.
